A Brand Story Deeper Than Most

Note: Within a year of completing this 'Heritage" project, the New Inchcolm Hotel was crowned Australian boutique hotel of the year. It has since passed on to new ownership.*

One thing that truly successful brands share is that they know how to tell the story of who they are being in a way that allows people to build connections to them. Getting the narrative right so that it is engaging, authentic and magnetic is at the core of these connections. When you get it right connections start to form by themselves.

One of our more recent projects, The New Inchcolm Hotel and Suites is a perfect example. As a heritage listed building with a uniquely boutique offering like no other in Brisbane, its core brand story is, well... stories. Since the site was first named in the late 1800s it has accumulated may stories to tell. So much so that small ‘Read Me’ books are discreetly placed about the glamorous art deco-ish decor to introduce their guests to some of these hidden gems.

One such story is that of General MacArthur visiting the build during the war for medical treatment. A lock was placed on the heritage-listed Otis lift for his security as he came and went.

Guests who are intrigued by this story can also delve deeper at the nearby MacArthur museum where his office is preserved.

The MacArthur story is only one of the many contained within the many textured halls and rooms of The New Inchcolm. One of many that make up the elegant tapestry of this wonderful hotel’s brand story.
