We recently asked three people from the same organisation to describe who they were and what they did. The answers were vastly different, and this is not uncommon. Scary, but not uncommon.

Clarity in business or brand strategy is a cornerstone of success, and yet when put to the test, few organisations have it. Those that do rise, those that don’t muddle along in spite of themselves.

John Lennon wrote, “Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans.'' In our busy world, those other plans are usually reactive without the underpinnings of clear strategy and direction. Investing the time in a strategic discovery process, where you can enter a different headspace and distil your strategy and story can make all the difference.

We had a client strategy session recently and challenged their thinking. Later we received this lovely note:

“Hi, Paul/Steve,

Thanks for the session yesterday.

It was a bit of a marathon but I feel we all now have a better understanding internally already as to who we are from the directional process that you guided us through.”

That kind of feedback makes our day, and that’s why we do what we do.
